He was arrested for allegedly assaulting a man who was drunk. The incident occurred on the evening of January 19, 2023. The pub, located at 100 High Street, Northampton, was reportedly crowded. The victim, identified as John Doe, was seen arguing with Scott before the altercation. Witnesses reported that Scott approached Doe aggressively, leading to a physical confrontation. The police arrived at the scene and found Scott and Doe engaged in a heated exchange. Upon questioning, Scott admitted to the altercation but claimed it was in self-defense. The pub’s security footage showed Scott pushing Doe, who was unconscious after the incident. The police arrested Scott and charged him with common assault.
The incident occurred at 10.30pm on Saturday, September 10, at the pub in the heart of the city. Steve Scott, a PC, was off-duty when he found himself in a potentially dangerous situation. He was at The Sevens pub, a popular establishment in the city center, when he noticed Mohammed Alamin, a man who had been asked to remove his hood by the pub’s staff. Alamin was carrying two kitchen knives, which raised immediate concern. The situation escalated when Alamin refused to comply with the request to remove his hood. This refusal, coupled with the presence of the knives, led PC Scott to take action.
The pub was in a state of panic as the offender threatened to kill everyone inside. The offender, who was described as a young man, was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
Steve’s actions were driven by his commitment to safety and his role as a law enforcement officer. Steve, a dedicated law enforcement officer, found himself in a high-stakes situation where his quick thinking and decisive actions were crucial. In a scenario where an offender attempted to flee, Steve’s commitment to public safety and his professional training kicked into high gear.
He also mentioned that the pub’s atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, with the staff being attentive and helpful. The landlord’s appreciation for his support during the match was evident, and this gesture made Steve feel valued and appreciated.
Steve has since received a Superintendent’s Commendation from the force for his “bravery and quick thinking”, calling him a “credit to Northamptonshire Police”.
